St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell, Kalamazoo, Michigan
Thursday, July 11
5 pm - gather (some exhibitor tables will be open)
6 pm - dinner
7 pm - Q&A and conversation time
8:30 - wrap up for the evening
Workshop Format
Each workshop will be 90 minutes. That’s a LONG TIME.
The design team intentionally scheduled that time in order to complete the following:
Workshop Host - each workshop will have a volunteer host. This person can help you welcome people to the space, pass out materials, or help you with your presentation. If you already know of someone that will volunteer that will be your host, please let Heather know.
Technology - Please bring any technology that you need for your presentation. We can provide to you a blank wall, screen, or sheet. Remember to bring extension cords. Please let Heather know by June 1 if you are planning on bringing a projector and need a screen. Technological hint: download anything that you need onto your computer. Don't rely on streaming.
Workshop room locations will be announced July 1.
Promote Yourself!
Books - if you have books that you have written or books that you will recommend, we can have those available at the book table (coordinated by Kazoo Books and Church Publishing). Contact Heather by June 1 with the titles you would like added to the list.
Websites - You will be able to add your website to the blog. Don't have one yet? It's the perfect time to create one. (We highly recommend Weebly, but there are other free options out there.)
Swag Bags - Each BPG attendee will receive a bag full of materials and swag. If you have something that you would like everyone to receive, please fill out this form. Details about the number of attendees and the mailing address will come in a separate notice.

Workshop Format
Each workshop will be 90 minutes. That’s a LONG TIME.
The design team intentionally scheduled that time in order to complete the following:
- Presentation – presenters share information – hopefully including people from different dioceses who do similar programs or their programs have similar themes
- “practice” / play / share– participants can try out the ideas / concepts / program and connect to their current ministries. People might have related thoughts or ideas to share.
- Networking – people have ample time to meet other people in the room, getting to know people, and sharing contact information. This can be framed by the leader (“everyone who was interested in talking more about [a certain topic], go over there” and “everyone who is interested in [this other topic], go to the other area…”) or can be open (“we invite you to connect with others in this room that said things that you’d like to know more about”)
- Action plan – participants create a plan to continue and expand the conversation in the future. Zoom weber-sations or mailing lists or facebook pages. (The Provincial Coordinator is available to help with the future networking.)
Workshop Host - each workshop will have a volunteer host. This person can help you welcome people to the space, pass out materials, or help you with your presentation. If you already know of someone that will volunteer that will be your host, please let Heather know.
